Recommendation Confidentiality

The recommendation you submit will be treated as privileged information, and will be presented only to the admission officials at the institution to which the student applied. Applicants are never allowed direct access to any recommendation materials submitted on behalf of their application.

However, applicants in the United States have the right to access recommendations under the the The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). If an applicant has not waived that right, then they may request copies of your submission per the policies of the organization that received the recommendation.

If FERPA regulations apply, you will see the applicant's FERPA waiver answer on the first page of the recommendation form.
